A Day of Irony

Thanks to Jim DeWees for sharing the irony of the day, yesterday. Just a couple of thoughts:

First: It is a bit ironic to me that this came from the Amputee Coalition of America. For the past few weeks I have had contact with them about having an article or "letter to the editor" in their publications. That request is apparently under consideration by those higher up on ACA. I certainly don't anticipate being published soon ... although it would seem that, as advocates for amputees (not providers) they would be all over this!!

Second: Another irony is that, although CIGNA has now said that the Transition of Care process can not be used to request O/P care, they have now responded to my appeal of their denial by giving me 90 days of care to finish what I'm in the midst of with my prosthetist. Apparently, while the process is not applicable, it still will work. I am appreciative to CIGNA for being responsive to my immediate needs and hope that they will soon be responsive to the needs of all amputees!
