CIGNA Denies Continuity of Care

I just received a call from my prosthetist who reported receiving a call from a CIGNA Representative in their Pittsburgh office. She informed him that the request for "Transition of Care" (which she referred to as "Continuity of Care") for Dan Gottry has been denied by the medical director.

She commented that this form does not apply to ancillary providers. I asked her if the form only applies to physicians and she could not answer.

She could not answer any questions about the issue but did mention letters will be sent out to the patient and the provider.

She indicated that we could call to schedule a peer review with Dr. Osbourne, the denying medical director, by calling 1-800-558-4314.

As a patient absolutely in the middle of a process with my prosthetist . CIGNA has certainly left me up to my eyeballs in alligators!
